How Low Can You Go

In this Kingdom it’s about how low you can go. It’s the best place for all believers.

Romans 14:10-11 NLT

So why do you condemn another believer ? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the lord , ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God. ’”

Philippians 2:9-11 NLT

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I Skipped a Week… COH Week 3 Summer 2014

This is a week of overcoming one of the biggest obstacles in my life. I was feeling confident because I found a great song to open the video with, but this was the week when a huge strom rolled through and knocked out the power to the camp for 2-3 days.

About halfway through the whole experience I realized that If I don’t have electricity to power my equipment I don’t have a job. haha.

This week I experienced one of the biggest waves of encouragement and support I’ve probably received in my entire life. People would come and visit me in my office to check up on me and show their appreciation for what I do. (Shout out to Emily Lado)

Eventually the power did come on, but tests were being run in the area and the power would go off without warning. In result I would lose hours of work at some points. it was incredibly frustrating. At one time the power went out while I was editing and lost two hours of work. I ran into the conference room completely heated and my boss and the two Summer Activity Leaders were there praying for me. I didn’t appreciate it at the time, but in the end I saw God answering my prayers throughout the week. I saw people standing beside me while I was kicking and screaming. I saw that I wasn’t alone. (shout out to Derek Hodne, Colin Kirby and Ashley Froisland)

I learned in this week that the journey you have with the Lord is not only dependent on Him and His grace, but with the people who come along side you and pick you up. I learned that I didn’t have to pursue what I love and do it alone. I realized that what I need is close to what I want. I realized that I need friends who will be there for me. (Shout out to Josh Devarie. Who remained with me the whole time!)

I also met some of the best friends in my life. (shout out to Libby Simmons!)

Plus, I was not only able to finish the week strong, but I filmed and edited one of the best videos of the summer. I’m probably going to say that a few more times, by the way

COH High School Week Summer 2014

This was probably one of the best highlight videos I did all summer. Specifically the highlights in the first 3 min.

I’ve always wanted to use a techno dubstep type song. When I heard “Living for the other side”  by Capital Kings I knew I wanted to use it, but like every song I got intimidated by it became I wasn’t sure if I would have the shots to compliment the music.

One thing I’ve realized in highlight videos I love is when they use the music to match the action. But with prayer and hard work, I found everything I was looking for. The results: thankfulness

Creativity for Creative people…

Write. Reread. Edit. Keep writing.

I’m writing a script for a movie right now and I’m falling in love with the Lord and coming alive every second of it.

Every little detail is important. I literally pace back and forth thinking about these characters and how people will relate to them.

I feel that this movie will encourage creative sons and daughters of God reach another level of creativity they don’t feel is acceptable in the eyes of others. Why? Because people have been afraid of their ideas. Because of the fear of something new and creative, people have held them down and tried to mold them into society’s image of a successful person.

Creative people were born to create. It brings them closer to God and it becomes their means to follow Jesus.

When people look at their work they will see a child and their Heavenly Father dancing together. They will see a heart before the Lord and they will see a Father delighted in their Child. Something the world needs more of, believe me.

If creative ones don’t know this, their gifting goes to a lesser means. They usually break loose and use their gifts to hurt themselves and others, not even knowing they are doing it. Or even worse they shut down and bury what God placed inside of them. I’ve met too many people who this has happened to and it makes me sick because they don’t even know how beautiful they are. They don’t know they are created to bring people alive… They don’t even know they could shift culture, if God wills it.

It’s time to do great things. It’s time to do something new.
